The Handgun Fundamentals Course is designed for individuals who want to develop a solid foundation in safe, responsible, and effective handgun use.
The course covers firearm safety, handgun function and handling, marksmanship fundamentals, and practical live-fire exercises. Training progresses through beginner-friendly drills designed to build safe habits, consistency, confidence, and proficiency under the guidance of qualified instructors.
Whether you are handling a firearm for the first time or looking to strengthen your existing fundamentals, this course provides a structured and practical introduction to responsible handgun use.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
This course is beginner-friendly and requires no prior firearms or shooting experience.
Beginners and shooters of all experience levels are welcome.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE COURSE
The course fee includes:
- Firearm rental
- 50 rounds of ammunition
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
Participants are therefore not required to own or bring a firearm or shooting equipment to attend the course.
Participants who prefer to train using their own firearm and equipment may do so, provided that their equipment complies with course safety requirements and that they possess all required valid licenses, firearm registration, and permits.
REQUIRED PERSONAL ITEMS
1. Appropriate Clothing
- Comfortable pants that allow unrestricted movement
- Closed-toe shoes with good traction
- Clothing appropriate for range activity and prevailing weather conditions
Avoid excessively loose clothing or accessories that may interfere with safe firearm handling.
2. Water Container / Tumbler
Bring sufficient drinking water for the duration of the course.
3. Change of Clothes & Personal Hygiene Kit
Recommended particularly for outdoor venues and hot-weather training.
4. Sun Protection — For Outdoor Venues
Recommended items include:
- Hat or cap
- Sun sleeves
- Neck gaiter, if preferred
- Sunscreen
IF BRINGING YOUR OWN FIREARM
Participants may use their own handgun during the course provided that the firearm, licenses, registration, and permits are valid and compliant with Philippine law and course requirements.
Participants bringing their own firearm must have:
- Valid License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF)
- Valid registration for the firearm being brought

Either a valid:
- Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR), or
- Permit to Transport (PTT) applicable to the firearm and course/range
- Handgun: 9 mm or .45 ACP
- Minimum of 2 compatible magazines
- Minimum of 50 rounds of compatible ammunition
IMPORTANT
No valid license, firearm registration, and applicable permit = no personal firearm.
Participants who cannot present the required valid documentation must not bring their personal firearm to the course.
A training firearm, 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye and hearing protection are already included in the course fee and will be provided.
Please inform the Blades x Bullets PH team in advance if you intend to use your own firearm so that your documentation and equipment requirements can be confirmed prior to the course.
OPTIONAL PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Participants who already own shooting equipment may bring their personal setup for training.
Optional equipment includes:
- Personal eye protection
- Personal hearing protection

Belt or battle belt setup
- Secure and appropriate pistol holster
- At least 2 magazine pouches
- Gloves
- Plate carrier or chest rig
These items are optional and are not required to complete the Handgun Fundamentals Course.
Personal holsters, belts, carriers, and other shooting equipment must be safe, functional, and appropriate for the course. Final use of any personal equipment remains subject to instructor approval for safety.
